IN THE OFFICE: ALISON PINCUS OF ONE KINGS LANE

As someone who currently works from home, but dreams of having my own light-filled offices space very soon, I'm constantly inspired by how others are decorating their space. Today, I'm so excited to bring you an exclusive peek at One Kings Lane founder Alison Pincus' office in San Francisco!

Do you get to procure items for your office through your own OKL sales? What are some of your favorite treasures? I buy directly from One Kings Lane, like all of our shoppers. I shop the sales when they open to everyone. My favorite treasures include all of the art that I’ve purchased on One Kings Lane, including framed pieces by Gray Malin and John Derian.

What's the story with the elephants? Coincidentally, I became a little obsessed with elephants around the time that I started to think about the logo for One Kings Lane. Elephants are powerful and mysterious. Since we started One Kings Lane, Susan and I have been collecting elephants. When Susan went to India last year she brought back this gorgeous silver elephant for me from her trip.

Any tips for readers on creating a beautiful but functional space? Don’t be afraid to take risks. And try to find a space for everything. Living with clutter can be distracting.

You must have tons of design books - any recent favorites or must-haves to recommend? I always enjoy Vogue Living’s books. Right now I’m loving Jeffrey Bilhuber’s newest book, as well as Mary McDonald’s INTERIORS.
